John Shaw - Peer Support Specialists

John entered the United States Air Force shortly after graduating from High School. Through his 23 years of service, John was stationed all over the world, but started out in Goldsboro, NC, at Seymour J. AFB, where he supported F-15E fighters. John deployed 4 months after 9/11 to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, where he supported Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom as a munitions specialist. His next assignment was at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, where he supported F-16 and A-10 aircraft. After 4 years in Germany, he and his family moved to the United Kingdom and were stationed at Royal Air Force Fairford and Royal Air Force Welford. He was then assigned to Beale Air Force Base, California, where he was an instructor at the Air Force Combat Ammunition Center and eventually became the curriculum director. Once this tour was through, John was assigned to Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, where he supported the B-2 bomber. He was forward deployed during this time and supported combat missions for the B-2. Next, John was assigned to Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, where he was assigned to Headquarters, Indo-Pacific Air Forces, overseeing the stockpiles and readiness of the units assigned to the Area of Operations. After a quick one-year tour, he was assigned to Daegu Air Base in South Korea, where he oversaw the readiness of Korean and American operations at 4 outstations across the Peninsula. He then took his last assignment at Hurlburt Field, Florida, where he supported Air Force Special Operations Command and Special Operations Command missions and readiness, supporting the AC-130 Gunship, MC-130 cargo plane, and various other special operations aircraft. During this time, John deployed to the Joint Special Operations Air Component-Central, overseeing the air operations and resupply of special operations forces throughout the greater Middle East. In his free time, John spends time with his family and dogs and likes to travel around Wisconsin.

John has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, University College, and a master's degree in organizational development and leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, TX.
